Purpose
Our purpose is to provide a place for victims and survivors to share their experiences with sexual violence, because we believe them and support the ways they express themselves.
History
This page was created by Emily Stewart to name her rapist and to protest the way victims and survivors are retraumatized in systems that repeatedly uphold rape culture. It is also a cry to address how theses systems, including the justice system, support white supremacy and misogyny.
Contributors
Emily Stewart is a victim and survivor. She found strength in reading the novel "Women Talking" by Miriam Toews; the works of Roxane Gay including "Hunger, "Bad Feminist," and "Not that Bad: Dispatches from Rape Culture;" and "Know my Name" by Chanel Miller. Here are some of the songs that helped her heal.
